این سه کلمه homophones هستند. یعنی به یک شکل تلفظ میشوند ولی در معنی متفاوت هستند.
تعاریف:
Flew گذشتهی سادهی فعل Fly است. یعنی پرواز کردن.
کلمهی flu که کوتاهشدهی کلمهی influenza است، به معنای ویروسی واگیر دار مورد استفاده قرار میگیرد.
کلمهی flue نیز به صورت اسم در جمله به کار رفته و به معنی دودکش است.

تفاوت Flew Out با Flied Out
در بازی بیسبال، زمانی که ضربهزن به توپ ضربه میزند، حرکت او را با فعل flied out در زمان ماضی بیان میکنند. تنها زمانی میتوان از فعل flew out استفاده کرد که ضربه زن چوبش را بیاندازد، دستهایش را تکان داده و خودش به بالای استادیوم پرواز کند. اینگونه میتواند نامش را در صدر کتاب گینس نیز ثبت کند!
